Finding the entrance was a struggle, there was no sign. Parking was an issue too, and there’s no reception, so you have to arrange a time to get into the apartment. Be aware that this isn’t a hotel. I thought it was part of the B&B group, but they’re just using its name to persuade customers. The bell at the door says bed&breakfast. Only once they took us to the apartment did we learn it had two other rooms, and that the bathroom was outside the room we’d been given.

I’ve been visiting Verona for 25 years, and this is in a really good spot, just off Coursa Porta Nuova. It’s an easy walk from the train station, five minutes to Pizza Bra and the Roman arena, and in a residential neighborhood. Coming back in the evening feels like a quiet break from the crowds. The apartment was a lovely surprise, renovated to a high standard, bright, modern, clean, and tidy. There’s a kitchen and lounge, a lovely bathroom, and a beautiful bedroom with an incredibly comfortable bed. The care and details stood out. Few Italian places leave good coffee and tea, biscuits, water, and even a bottle of wine. The toiletries were great, and there’s a washing machine too. It’s apparently a purpose built postwar block, with plenty of light and air conditioning.

The location suited us, and our host was friendly. Breakfast was fine, though nothing special, and with a bigger car you may find the parking space cramped. To me, the main thing you’re paying for is the location. We didn’t love the setup with other guests renting separate rooms in the same place. Our bathroom was down the hall, as we’d been told in advance, so you can end up crossing paths with strangers while wearing pajamas.
