Maison Marie

That view was the best part. From every angle we could see Vieste and the sea, like a postcard. The property itself is beautiful, but maintenance is poor. The bathroom taps were dirty, the only kitchen furniture was half broken, and the closet drawers smelled bad. We kept our things in our suitcases for the whole week. The terrace was large and nice, but badly equipped. The pool was another good feature, though it had half-broken loungers and just one umbrella. We couldn't always open it because the owner would come out yelling at us to close it. After our recent stay, I don't think I'll return.

Abandon all hope, ye who enter! The room was extremely dirty and full of water when we arrived. I told the manager, who acted as though nothing was wrong, so I had to clean the whole room myself and defrost the refrigerator because it wasn't working. There's barely a window, and when I asked for the air conditioning remote, I was told it cost extra. The vent blows straight onto the little patio, so we had to buy a bucket to catch the water. The toilet flush was broken. I asked the manager about it several times and got a rude reply, followed by some questionable jokes. Maintenance here is badly lacking. The pool was a murky yellow-green color. Good luck!

The view across the sea to Vieste was beautiful, and the pool looked nice, but we didn't get to use it. It was right by the balcony of apartment 2, and I found it odd there wasn't even a slight chlorine smell. The rest of the stay was terrible. From the photos, we expected an open-air paradise, but the property was hard to reach by car. We'd asked for one ground-floor apartment and one upstairs. Instead, Vincenzo gave us two upstairs units, reached by poorly lit stairs where it was easy to trip. He left Maison soon after assigning them. We called to ask how to turn on the air conditioning and were told it cost another 30 euros. While waiting for him to come back, we carried our bags in. Apartment 1 had an awful veranda, very dirty floors covered in stains and smears, poor lighting, yellowed plastic cutlery, and cushions that didn't deserve the name. The sofa bed was the worst part, filthy with hair, fur, and stains, including blood. Apartment 2 was somewhat better, but still poor. It was extremely cramped for what was meant to be one of the best apartments in Maison. There were two small fans, one dusty, unpresentable cutlery, and a piece of furniture with a completely smashed drawer. Vincenzo showed up about half an hour later. When we listed the problems, he denied the apartment was dirty and said he'd checked it himself. Because we were dissatisfied, he told us to leave the next morning, practically kicking us out, saying, "Check out tomorrow and go, OUT!!" with hand gestures. Overnight, there were worms and various insects. I was in apartment 2, so I don't know how our friends in apartment 1 fared. It was too hot and humid to sleep. Luckily, AC Milan was playing at 4:00, so I had something to do. The next morning Vincenzo kept rushing us to pack while checking us out. We left before 9:00.

We stayed in the large studio in July, and it was clean, elegant, and welcoming, with every comfort. The property looks recently built and is well maintained. I really liked the neat greenery around it, which kept us away from the city bustle. Vieste's beautiful beaches are nearby, and there's also a lovely pool with a stunning view. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful vacation here. I highly recommend this property.
