Palace Hotel Vieste

A well-kept hotel in a great spot, with a good room. It was very quiet out of season. There was no breakfast, though the booking didn't mention that and nobody explained it when we arrived. They did offer us coffee.

The staff were so helpful and friendly, and the food was tasty. We had a really lovely stay at this place right in the center of Vieste. Definitely recommend it.

We were very happy with the hospitality and the really nice service. The rooms are large, clean, and full of character, and the hotel is right in the center.

Palace Hotel Vieste may be fine for a city visit, but as it was operating in March, I wouldn't call it a four-star hotel. It's in town rather than by the beach, despite the beach views shown on the website, and there's no beach access. Vieste itself is lovely, and the people are excellent, so I'd recommend visiting the city, just not staying here. Perhaps the hotel is better during tourist season, but in its current state I'd give it two stars at most. There are some good points. Our junior suite was clean, well organized, and had central air. The hotel has secure parking underneath for 10,00 Euro a day. Some of the finishes are nice, too. But the bed was old and hard, and after a few nights I could feel it. Service was limited in the off-season. It was hard to reach anyone because there wasn't a person at the desk, and the phone number on the website went unanswered. I had to email and wait. They seemed to be offering only partial service while charging the full rate. The bar was closed, and even the lobby lights were kept off to save electricity. We also had to ask twice for bath tissue after the room had been cleaned, and it was delivered to the wrong room. I was billed 20,00 euro for four breakfasts at 5,00 each, but nobody had told me breakfast would be added to the bill. I checked the booking and travel sites and couldn't find it listed as included. We didn't try the breakfast, since the restaurant wasn't open when we arrived and the rest of the hotel seemed closed too. When I asked why we hadn't been told, they wouldn't address it. I suggested updating the website. I don't need the money back, but future guests should be informed, which is why I'm writing this.
