Villaggio Baia della Tufara

The views are astonishing. It’s a beautiful spot in Vieste, Italy, and seems perfect for a family trip.

We spent two wonderful weeks at this small, well-kept resort, with all the amenities we needed. Everyone on staff was friendly and ready to answer questions, and the restaurant was top-notch. Scialmarino beach was spectacular, with shallow water that worked perfectly for children. A special thank you to the entertainment team for keeping us company, especially Raffaello. He even got our teenage daughter to join the dancing and activities, which wasn’t easy! We’re grateful for the lovely memories and hope to see you all again next year. Scialmarino is a beautiful beach nearby, an easy walk away. The resort itself is well kept, with little brick houses in different sizes. We especially enjoyed the restaurant, where the food was excellent, and the half-board plan was convenient and satisfying. The welcome and hospitality were excellent too. The entertainment was pleasant, though there weren’t many young people. The coin-operated laundry was very handy.

The patio outside our apartment was lovely, with a table and chairs, and they even gave us a gate to keep our dog out. The bar also closes for certain hours in the afternoon. One thing to be aware of: this isn’t a seaside village. The campsite entrance is around 200 meters from its private beach, with a short uphill and downhill walk to get there. It’s a good resort for children and teenagers, with friendly entertainers, a big pool, a multi-use sports field, and clean paths. We ate well at the restaurant and thought the price was fair. But our three-room apartment for four wasn’t clean. The kitchen was dirty and there was dust under the beds. I told reception when checking out, and they said they’d pass it along to the cleaning contractor. The water in the accommodation was salty, which left the taps damaged, as shown in the photo, and made washing unpleasant. There is a fresh water tap in the kitchen for drinking and cooking. The kitchen cupboards and their handles were very worn, although other units seemed to have new kitchens, probably from recent renovations. We also had no countertop.
