Coral Seas Beach Resort

It's a small, clean hotel with a quiet atmosphere, which I really appreciated since I don't like noise when I stay somewhere. The room was clean and had AC and a mini fridge, very handy in Negril's heat. The entrance and gardens were tidy, customer service was excellent, and there's access to 7 mile beach with other hotels next door. The one thing that spoiled an otherwise nice stay happened while I was sitting by the beach in the morning with my guitar, trying to get some inspiration. I was the only guest around, and no one else was even on the beach. A staff member came over rudely, turned music up loud to drown me out, then left it playing. She saw me and didn't turn it down.

The beach is much quieter and more peaceful at this end, and it's more private than down the 7 mile beach, where locals keep asking you to buy their goods. I understand they're trying to make a living, but it gets annoying when all you want is to relax in the sun and water. The sunsets are gorgeous, and I love it here! I've been coming to Negril for years, and this is my second stay at Coral Seas Beach resort. In 2020 I had the upstairs ocean-front room and loved it. This time I'm in the other ocean-view room on the main floor. Rooms are cleaned daily, the housekeeping and gardening staff are pleasant and always ready to help, and the grounds are well kept.

I chose this place for a weekend to clear my head and get some rest from work, but the noise made that impossible. There was loud music from boom boxes, young men chatting, smoking, shouting, and hanging around right outside the rooms both day and night. At 2am, guests could still be outside playing music and yelling across from my room. Some guests had kids too. I also don't know whether some of the men lived there, but they seemed very at home, washing and hanging clothes on the balcony every day, among other things. Different sections are needed for people who want quiet, since not everyone smokes or can tolerate this much noise, and being able to sleep undisturbed should be a given. The location is great, but the property needs renovation. Several things needed repairs, including the shower heads and a broken TV remote, and the room had no mirror except for a small one in the bathroom. Those weren't even my main concern. The hotel is poorly managed and extremely loud. The most peaceful parts of my trip were when I left to eat elsewhere or went out during the day. My choice of place was a huge mistake. Neither I nor anyone I know will stay here. Please don't make the same mistake.

For a one-night stay, the basics were there: AC, a clean room, and a hot shower. But I can't give Coral Seas Beach Resort three stars because the front desk woman who checked us in seemed like she didn't want to be there. She handed over the keys and went back to her phone. When a guest said the WiFi wasn't working, she just pointed to a sign with the password. Later, my dad found her curled up on a couch when he went to ask for more towels. The towel situation was a real problem. There weren't enough, so we had to share, and the ones we got had clearly been used many times. The place has potential, and the beach is nice and clean, but the owners should put effort into upgrades. I won't stay again. There are nicer options nearby at similar prices.
