Mr Penny and Inge were fantastic hosts. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate, and the rooms are comfortable little cabins in the jungle with a small kitchenette. You’ll need to be okay without A/C, though you can ask for a floor fan. The food was good, and I’d suggest trying her lasagna. Thanks again for making our stay together so wonderful. Bob and Kelly.

This was five stars for the soul, not for marble floors or A/C. I came because I felt God had sent me to heal and find some stillness, reconnect with nature and God, and realign with the woman I’m becoming. Turning 30 felt different, and I wanted something deeper and more real than my usual birthday stays in Toronto at places like the Ritz-Carlton or the W Hotel. I’m used to five-star luxury, but the food reviews, especially, persuaded me to try this place. In true Gemini fashion, things got chaotic. I booked the wrong flight from Miami to Jamaica and arrived a day late without communicating. I was exhausted after a girls’ trip, and just 15 minutes before we arrived with my husband, looking for peace, I got a cancellation notice from Booking.com. My heart sank because I’d already paid in full. Mr. Penny explained the room had been canceled because of the no-show, but when I told him what happened, he welcomed us in with no stress or judgment. He showed us to our room himself, gave us directions, and wished us a lovely stay. The restaurant was closed for the slow season. As a foodie, I was heartbroken, but that gives me a reason to come back. The room was peaceful and the view was beautiful, but the real highlight was talking with Mr. Penny. He was insightful, grounding, and human, like a relative who truly cares. That felt rare and healing. For my ladies with designer bags, you do have to keep them in the fridge when you’re not using them. Trust me, it works. You’re in a beautiful garden. My family and I will return again and again. I was promised the restaurant would be open next time, and I can’t wait. This is an honest, growing, Jamaican-owned business with beautiful energy. Thank you, Mr. Penny. God used you to bless us. The food was delicious, and the Punch was fabulous. My friends and I ate here a couple of times after stumbling across the restaurant during our February trip to Jamaica. It was a quieter time, and we were the only diners, so we got to chat one-on-one with the owner, miss penny herself, and the chef. The German and Jamaica food make a lovely combination, and the staff were so kind. It really felt like a special experience, and I’d definitely eat here again. I can’t speak to the hotel rooms, but the Negril location is great, with lots of places close by and easy to walk to.

Mr. Penny and Inga were lovely hosts, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I’ll stay here again. ~ Hope
