It was lovely to get away from the noise and parties on the busy beach street. This affordable guesthouse is tucked into lush gardens, and the friendly owner, Sue, really cares about her guests and the place. Walking to 7 mile beach takes about 30 minutes. I went in the morning and took an uber back for about $5, or you can use local taxis for 200JMD to shorten the walk. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Judy house also seems to attract the best guests. I made so many amazing friends there, all helpful and kind.

Booking.com said we qualified for a free refund because the host asked us to move to another cottage. But the host handles the payment directly, so don't trust that email from Booking.com. Judy House will steal your money.

We stayed one night at this lovely ecolodge for backpackers. I'd never experienced that kind of stay when I was younger and wanted to try it, though my friend didn't enjoy it. We spent the day and evening at Rick's Café, so the ecolodge was just somewhere to sleep. It was an experience, but I wouldn't go back.

The hostel has a security man in the evenings, so you feel safe at all times. The owner is super nice and shows you everything you need. It's very clean, and there's also a "small" minimarket for essentials.

Nine years ago, my friend Paul and I stayed here for two entire weeks because the hostel was so beautiful. It was one of our best experiences, and we met awesome people and made memories we won't forget. Thanks Judy ☺️
