De Lara Hotel

My short stay in Aqaba was such a delight. The staff were hospitable and gave great service, and the hotel is in a lovely spot with everything easy to reach. It was comfortable and good value for money. I’d happily recommend it.

The view was marvelous, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I had a great stay and would definitely come back on my next visit.

This was my first stay here, and it will be my last. We picked the hotel because my sister had stayed in previous years, but it needs maintenance, better organization, and management now. I expected more, but the experience was awful. The room had several problems. The closet was broken, there were no hangers, the sink clogged and I couldn’t fix it, and there was no phone to call reception. The phone seemed to have been taken away and was hanging by a wire. The shower hose burst while I was showering, though they did fix it. We were given just one toilet roll, one bar of soap, and two towels, so we had to keep asking for toilet paper, towels, and shower supplies. We were told we’d be charged if a towel got very dirty from beach sand. There was no bathroom mat, so the floor kept getting wet, and the bathroom door hit the sink and couldn’t open properly. The door lock was missing, and staff would enter to clean unless we put out a do not disturb sign, even when we hadn’t asked for cleaning. There were only two housekeepers trying to clean the whole hotel. It didn’t feel safe or secure.

We stayed in April 2024 and had excellent service. The receptionist who welcomed us was especially warm and friendly. The beach is only about a 5-10 minute walk away, and the location is great. Highly recommended when staying in Aqaba.
