Mariam Hotel

The staff were friendly, the neighbourhood was quiet, and parking right outside was handy. The design is classic and a little dated, but everything was clean, tidy, and peaceful, and I enjoyed breakfast, especially the sausage. We only stayed one night and it was better than I expected. It was freezing outside, though. They gave us an extra thick blanket, but the heater didn’t work, and nobody could help us with our luggage.

We held a 24-hour retreat for about 25 women here, and it worked really well as an affordable venue. It’s easy to walk to restaurants and the churches and mosaics in central Madaba. The fifth-floor dining area and conference center have lovely views. The rooms are simple and practical, the beds are comfortable, and the showers are hot and good. It’s a lovely hotel at a very moderate price. Filtered water is available on every floor for bottles or kettles.

Breakfast on the fifth floor was varied and very good, with hot and cold dishes, tea, coffee, and juice. There are water coolers around the building, and wifi is free. We had a spacious room with a bathroom and balcony, and there’s a big pool behind the building. Check-in is available around the clock, the hotel was easy enough to find, and the service was very good. Nice place for a night before heading south. Wish we’d had longer.

The location is spot on, and the included breakfast was honestly the best hotel breakfast I’ve had, 10/10. Everyone on staff was sooo friendly, and the pool area is super cute, with a convenient bar beside it. This hotel is beautiful. I highly recommend it.
