Edom Hotel

Getting to Petra couldn’t be easier: the hotel is just a few meters from the entrance, with no uphill or downhill walk. The outdoor spaces and pool look more like those of a five-star place, even though this is a three-star hotel. Everything was spotless and well cared for, which made a very good first impression. The breakfast was simple, fresh and organized. The chef came out to welcome us and later greeted us personally, a nice sign of professionalism and care. The rooms were comfortable, clean and perfectly fine. The bathrooms could be improved, though it didn’t affect the stay much. It’s a good, honest hotel without misleading extras. For the price, it’s absolutely worth it and deserves four stars.

The location is wonderful, about five minutes on foot from Petra and two minutes from many nearby restaurants and shops. Our room was tidy and clean, and the food was delicious, with compliments to the chef. The bathroom quality was really low, and the water swung from extremely hot to cold while showering. The TV and phone weren’t working either. I’d like to thank Mohammad Hasannat for his excellent service in the restaurant. He was always happy to serve us and went out of his way to check whether we were enjoying the food. He made our stay at Edom memorable.

That 2 pm room extension was such a thoughtful offer after our hike, even though we declined because we expected to stay longer inside Petra. The receptionist also explained the opening times and gave us helpful advice about arranging a guide. Everyone welcomed us warmly and carried our bags to the rooms. Edom Hotel was spotless, and our room was clean and ready for us. It’s only a 4-minute walk to the Petra Visitor Centre, easy to find, and very good value for the price. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Petra.

The manager was especially upbeat, helpful, and attentive, and the rest of the staff were friendly too. Breakfast was somewhat limited, with boiled eggs but no scrambled ones, though the fig jam and tea were absolutely to die for. The rooms and public toilets were in great shape, clean, modern, and comfortable. The rest of the hotel could do with some general renovations. There’s a dedicated parking spot, and the Petra entrance is only a 4-minute walk away. Amazing value and a great stay.
