Nomads Hotel Petra

The rooftop bar is a lovely, comfortable spot to spend time, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, just 2 minutes from Petra archeological park. Rooms are comfortable, and although the bathrooms are a bit old, they're very clean. We stayed during a very cold spell, though, and the AC unit wasn't really enough to heat the room.

The general manager and night manager were the best part of our stay: both were friendly and passionate, and spent about an hour the night before our first Petra visit talking us through routes, tips, and their preferences. That advice really helped us make the most of the day as first-time visitors. The room was exactly as advertised, simple but functional, clean, and comfortable. There's a nice rooftop bar and patio for watching the sunset, and the lunch bag they offered for Petra was basic but convenient and good value. The hotel is very close to the Petra entrance, but it's up a steep hill. Walking down in the morning is easy. You could walk back up if you feel ambitious, though after a full day hiking, a taxi is probably better and doesn't cost much. Our taxi actually got stuck on the way up and had to try again with more speed.

The dinner buffet was amazing, and it was all prepared by Donia. It was lovely meeting her and getting to thank her. After a long day at Petra, the rooftop patio was a relaxing place for a drink. My daughter and I were very pleased with Nomads Hotel. The staff were exceptional, especially Hammam at reception, who was well spoken, kind, and very helpful. Jacqueline and Brea

Dunia is such a good cook, and the buffet dinner was amazing. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and our rooms were nice and clean. Highly recommend!
