The hostel is cheap and in a good location, but its Google and AirBnB listings were very misleading. My partner and I stayed two nights. It seems to be an upstairs, remodeled apartment with a confusing layout. The bedrooms have bunk beds and are barely bigger than the beds. There was probably less than two feet beside the bed and around 12 inches at the foot. Sharing one bed meant we could put our stuff on the other, but I don't know where it would go if both beds were occupied. Half the rooms apparently have a gap of about three inches under the door. Our first room had a doorknob that wouldn't lock. The check-in guy moved us next door, but that knob was broken too. He tried another room, where he couldn't get the knob to unlock. Our room's window was shared with the neighboring room's window, and something was wrong so that closing it in one room left the other room's window open. It was very cold in February. The shared bathroom setup was really strange: two toilets and two showers on each side, with a divider between them that creates separate walkways on the left and right. Each compartment has a sliding door, but they're so small you can't sit on the toilet with the door closed. I added a photo. It would make more sense to have one central walkway and extend the compartments, or put toilets on one side and showers on the other, since toilets need more room. The listed amenities were ridiculous. The check-in guy said they didn't actually have wifi and told us to use the neighboring Turkish Bath business's wifi. It barely worked, and only in some parts of the hostel. The "free parking" is street parking in the area. It's not wheelchair accessible unless carrying a wheelchair up two flights of stairs counts. Someone was smoking in the common lounge while we were there. I think it was someone who works there, though I'm not certain. Despite what the listing says, there is no pool, laundry service, room service, kitchen in the bedrooms, airport shuttle, hot tub, spa, fitness center or business center. I also wouldn't call it kid-friendly or pet-friendly. It's an extremely bare-bones hostel for backpackers. There is a restaurant downstairs and one in a neighboring building, but neither is part of the hostel.

The new owner has completely renovated the place, and the price is very reasonable. It's close to the gate, so getting around was easy, and there's heating everywhere. The new bathroom is spacious. You can book a bus anywhere by asking the owner, who can also give you information about the archaeological site for free. There is a significant discount for stays longer than three days.

This is a new brand with something different for young tourists and backpackers. The price is good, and it's close to everything: two minutes on foot to the visitors center and ten minutes to the city center. The rooms are nice, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast served at the table was a nice mix of traditional and intercontinental food. The staff were welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend it to everyone.

I had a reservation through booking.com for 5 JOD a night, but the guy at reception charged me 10 JOD.

It's cheap for Petra and only five minutes from the entrance. But it was the worst room I've stayed in in Africa, and the shared bathroom was very bad.
