The vegan meals were a real highlight at Bubble Luxotel Petra. The staff went out of their way to meet our dietary needs, and the smoked rice and aubergine was one of the best dishes we’ve ever had. We also loved the plentiful hibiscus juice and tea. Their friendly, accommodating service turned what might have been a lower-rated stay because of maintenance problems into a five-star experience. The bubbles were cosy, with breathtaking views and a unique atmosphere that made the stay unforgettable. The property could use renovation and better maintenance, though, so future guests can enjoy the unusual accommodation to the fullest. Even with those minor issues, we had a wonderful stay, exceeded expectations, and hope to return.

We had an amazing stay from beginning to end. The location worked perfectly for entering Petra through the back entrance at little Petra, where you can buy a ticket. I’m really glad we started from that side. The staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome. The food was lovely, and the views from the hotel were amazing. Looking up through the pod at the stars at night was beautiful, and the bed and jacuzzi were amazing too.

The hot tub was just what we needed after a full day at Petra, and I ended up staying awake half the night watching the stars through the clear bedroom ceiling. It was our first luxury camp stay, and I chose this one because each unit has that transparent roof and its own hot tub. We booked half board and enjoyed the food. My husband is a picky eater, but the chef made him a dinner he requested. With fewer guests around, they skipped the full buffet and brought each table a spread of lamb, chicken, fish, potatoes, rice, salads and hummus instead. The service was five-star, and the room had indoor plumbing, heating and air conditioning, plus a minibar and coffee station. We had an amazing vacation and no complaints.

The quiet setting is a big reason we’d come back when visiting Petra. We felt at home from the moment we arrived, and the food was a real highlight. Both evenings had a great program, too. We had a lovely stay.
