APA Hotel Akita Senshu Koen

The breakfast was APA quality, which has unfortunately always fallen short of what I expect. Still, this is a good option for staying in Akita. The usual APA setup is reliable, and the small room and bath-and-toilet area were well equipped. It's under five minutes from the airport limousine bus stop, a few minutes from downtown, and there's a convenience store and supermarket nearby.

The room's small for two backpackers, with barely enough space to unpack, though you can manage if you shuffle things around. With four or five suitcases, it'd be really difficult. We had a double bed that dips toward the middle, so we both rolled that way while sleeping. Not sure if it's age or poor quality, but my back hurt a bit in the morning. It's a clean, convenient little hotel, about a 7-8 minute walk from the station, and everything you need is already in the room. There was a good view from the foot of my bed.

There's not much around apart from the big garden. The staff don't know English and aren't kind.

Nothing fancy, just an average hotel. We paid 55CAD for the night, which was great. The bed and pillows were good, and it was thoughtful of them to provide individually packaged disposable razors and hairbrushes.
