Hotel Crescent Asahikawa

The staff were helpful, even though they didn’t speak much English, and the hotel is fairly close to the main train station. I had a lovely stay. The rooms are dated but do the job, though I’d have preferred a queen bed to the two singles. Some updating might be in order.

The hotel is quite old, and unfortunately I ended up in a smoking room because the non-smoking rooms were full. The smell was everywhere. It still uses old-fashioned keys instead of keycards. If you can find somewhere better, I wouldn’t recommend this one.

I didn’t even feel like taking photos here, which is unusual for me. It’s a very old hotel, and our tour guide booked it for us. Maybe the tours get a high commission, since there are cheaper, better hotels near aeon mall on Agoda. The room had just two power outlets, one by the entrance and one for the TV. The internet kept disconnecting and was slow. The bed was thin and soft, and the single pillow was thin too. Furniture was old-fashioned and broken. The toilet nozzle was disgusting, the shower curtain had black spots that looked like mould, and the shampoo and shower gel were very watery and poor quality.

The location works well for buses and getting around. I think there’d been a fairly recent renovation by January 2024, and the hotel was quite nice and comfortable.
