Hotel Breezebay Atami Annex

The food is good, with all-you-can-eat crab, abalone, yakiniku, and more, and you get a nice ocean view. It's a small place with about 30 rooms, and the bath is small too. The hotel mostly runs on a self-service setup to keep costs down, so don't expect luxury.

We stayed as two people on a weekday and were really pleased. The property is a little isolated and the parking lot is small, but there was so much included that we felt well looked after. Welcome service had unlimited alcohol and coffee, plus as many snacks and appetizers as we wanted. Breakfast and dinner were buffet-style, with unlimited drinks at dinner. Outside the large bath there was free ice cream, water, and tea, along with free massage chairs and 40 minutes in the karaoke room. All the staff were foreigners, but they spoke fluent Japanese and were very friendly.

July 31, 2025. One night with two meals cost ¥25,000. The fresh, live abalone at dinner was delicious, and there was also tonkotsu tsukemen and soy sauce ramen. The buffet choices were a little limited, though. The private bath had a pleasant ocean view and didn't need a reservation, so you could just go when it was free. There were plenty of board games for the room, plus free karaoke, table tennis, and billiards without reservations. Amenities were plentiful, including face masks and a Dyson hair dryer. The all-inclusive welcome spread was a standout, with Shizuoka beer and lots of snacks like oden, candy bars, meat buns, and shumai. I felt a little uneasy that all the staff were foreigners, although the service itself didn't particularly bother me. I gave it 86 points. It's unusual to find such a broad range of welcome snacks, and this may be the best-value place I've stayed.

The lounge had excellent drinks and food and looked like a lovely place to unwind, but cigarette smoke ruined it for me. People smoked on the lobby lounge balcony, and with the window open, the smoke came inside. My eyes started stinging, it was hard to breathe, and the smell lingered afterward. I felt really unwell and wish they had a separate smoking area. The hotel itself is very nice.
