The best part was the Kaiseki dinner, with generous portions and delicious Sashimi. The hot spring bathing area was clean and had enough stalls and tubs. We went once in the evening and again in the morning, and it felt rejuvenating afterward. The rooms had Japanese mats and mattresses on the floor, and the ryokan is close to Atami station for an authentic Japanese stay. If you're traveling between Tokyo and Kyoto/Osaka, I'd say stop in Atami for a day and try this. A lot of tourists skip it for the usual attractions, but I think it belongs on the list.

For drivers, there's plenty of parking, including some EV charging spots. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the stay with meals is well worth considering. Breakfast had a wide range of options, and dinner was an exquisite traditional Japanese meal. The rooms don't have showers, so guests need to shower at the public hot springs. Also, the hotel's main entrance locks at midnight.

Such a lovely stay, with wonderful, welcoming staff, even though there wasn't much English. The hotel is a short bus ride from the beach and has a wonderful view. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and they even offer free ramen at 9 p.m. Recommended.

The view was spectacular, and dinner and breakfast were included in what we paid for our one night. We also had a private onsen booked, which worked perfectly since we have tattoos and can't use the public one. We knew about that restriction before booking, but didn't realize the room itself had no shower. The website's language barrier meant we missed some details. I was surprised by the location. My research made it look walkable on Google Maps, but we walked down to atami sun beach and took a cab back up. Everyone was extremely nice despite the language barrier. Lots of families seemed to bring kids, so it looks family friendly, just be ready to use a cab.

We picked this Japanese Hot Springs (ONSEN) for the May 5/5/2025 holiday period because we understood it could host only 180 guests, so the ONSEN wouldn't get crowded. It was full, and the pillow wasn't comfortable. The dining restaurant has a great coastal view of Atami. There's just one Shuttle Van serving both hotels, with three runs in the morning and three in the afternoon. You'll probably need to choose a taxi.
