Hotel Tohkai

The room was impressively large for Japan, and the staff were courteous. Breakfast was decent. There are massage chairs and laundry facilities for a reasonable fee, while microwaves are only on two floors. Plenty of eateries are nearby, and the local train station is very close. A very good place to stay.

I enjoy staying here every time. It's a simple hotel with very courteous staff, and it feels close to a local Japanese hotel. English instructions are limited, but enough to get around. There's plenty of food nearby, shopping areas, and an airport shuttle close by. Medical facilities are also up the street. The elevator clearly lists what's available on each floor. Floors 2 to 7 have different amenities, from fitness equipment on the fifth floor to vending machines, massage chairs, and microwaves. There's a simple free breakfast every morning.

It's quiet and calm, and the room is bigger than at other average hotels in the Atsugi area. Getting to either the train or bus station is easy. Breakfast is fine, with salad, eggs, bread, coffee, tea, juice, and cereal to choose from.

For under 10,000 yen a night, this is the best hotel for me. In my 10 years of experience in Japan, I haven't found rooms this large and comfortable. There's free hydrogen water in the lobby, bookshelves on every floor, and lots of pillow options and other useful accessories. I really love this hotel and will come back.
