Grand Nikko Awaji

Dinner was a highlight, with fresh local Awaji flavors, and breakfast had a buffet with onigiri you could customize. From the balcony there's a wide view of the ocean and the green parkland, with a nice sea breeze. A lovely place for some quiet time and quality moments.

There's a bus stop at this great hotel with a direct ride to Nijigen no Mori, including Godzilla Park and the Monster Hunter attraction.

The scenery was breathtaking every day, with our upgraded room looking out over Osaka Bay and the famous architecture at Yumebutai. We didn't realize at first that Yumebutai is a well-known structure designed by Ando Tadao. You can access it directly from inside the hotel, as well as the famous chapel Cappella di Mare, also designed by the same architect. The hotel is in the national park, so we were delighted by the mix of nature and design around us. We came from Shikoku, which was a bit of a trip, though the hotel is easy to reach from Kōbe by highway bus. The included breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide selection of local vegetables and fruits, breads, and both Japanese and Western options. It's one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had in a while. If you don't eat breakfast, you can exchange the coupon for lunch, which is a great idea. The staff were friendly and helpful, and many could speak some English. There's no hot spring, and we couldn't find spa pricing information. The WiFi was a bit choppy, maybe because the property is so big and could use more routers. Buses make it easy to get to nearby Awaji Island attractions like Nijigen no Mori, hello kitty showbox or smile, though there's a wait between connections. I think the bus information could be communicated more clearly. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back soon.

I came back after a few years and had another great stay. The hotel is lovely, with a really big room and a beautiful view. Both breakfast and dinner were very good, with plenty to choose from, and the surroundings are beautiful too. There's lots to visit near the hotel and quite a few restaurants to pick from. The staff were so friendly, helpful, and polite. They tried to answer every question and find a way to help. I'd give them six stars for service. There are buses downstairs, and while there isn't a hot spring at the hotel, there's a free shuttle to one nearby. The hot spring they recommended was really nice. I spent my birthday there and had such a great time. I'd definitely recommend it.
