The baths were all spotless and beautifully presented. I loved the big indoor spas, and the rotenburo and three tsubo yu were amazing too. Everyone on staff was friendly and so polite. Breakfast at Matsuya Sensen was really good. Our plan covered breakfast only, no dinner. I’d say this is one of Awara’s best onsen ryokans, and I highly recommend giving it a try.

The crab meal was excellent, and breakfast had more variety than I expected. We had a very comfortable stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

This ryokan is keen to welcome more international visitors, and I recommend it to foreign guests visiting Awara. The Okami is wonderful! The authentic tea room’s matcha is delicious too 😊, and you can learn the proper tea-making etiquette.

The onsen is great, and the hotel does really nice multi-course meals for work parties ^-^. I believe the bath is open to the public from 7 to 10 pm.

It’s a really comfortable place to stay. The people working there are lovely and helpful, and I’ll definitely come back on my next visit.
