Hotel Yurinkan

The chicken rice was my favorite part of dinner, and the drinks were reasonably priced. Breakfast was a good quality buffet, with amazing chocolat au pain. It's a very peaceful place with lovely views over the district. Day spa visitors start arriving from 8am, so it gets busy then, though at night and very early in the morning it's extremely quiet. You take your shoes off throughout the building, which has a lift, and there's plenty of parking.

The outdoor bath with its cave-like space was the standout for my family and me. We visited in winter, and the cold, crisp air made the hot springs feel especially relaxing. The peaceful surroundings added to that feeling. We also ate very well at Yurinkan. The meal was satisfying and comforting, with fresh local ingredients. The whole place felt calm and family-friendly, and it was an affordable onsen with a beautiful view. We had a memorable, rejuvenating visit, and I'd recommend it to anyone after a winter soak.

I went for a day-use soak. The water was great, and the rotenburo (outdoor bath) was incredible while the snowstorm was going on.

A beautiful hot spring with several places to soak: two outdoor baths, one shaped like a cave or grotto, plus a number of indoor baths. There are also rest areas where you can relax once you're out of the water.
