Atsugi Hotel Yugiri

I stayed in a smoking room. They said cigarettes were allowed, but there wasn't a ventilation fan or air purifier, so the smoke built up while I smoked and I felt bad about it. On the plus side, they offer room service for meals, which was nice. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly, and the service was excellent. I'll use the service again.

In winter, the bathroom water was too cold. I called the front desk, and they said they'd contacted a contractor. I wondered if another room had the same problem. It was fixed after a wait, and the hotel handled the issue well. The room itself was comfortable, spacious, and simple, with air conditioning and smoking allowed. The bathtub was large, though the bed was just average. The Wi-Fi wasn't good, so I used my own router. The pricing left me confused. It was a single room without meals, with a reserved free parking spot on the premises, maybe one of four, for 6500 yen. There's no breakfast, but a daily set dinner is available for an extra 1200 yen, with beer for 200 yen. It seems to be room service only. I did notice a faint smell and wondered if that might be why.

You can arrange the times for dinner and breakfast yourself, which is handy. Dinner comes to the room, but it's prepared in the restaurant that's open to the public, so delivery timing can be unpredictable. There's no elevator. Staff will carry luggage up to your room when they have time. I was told the room was non-smoking, but when I was shown the same room the following week, there was an ashtray. It already smelled of cigarettes, so anyone sensitive to smoke should take care.

The room was reasonably spacious, and that was the only good thing for me. There is no elevator, which should be made clear. It's very unsuitable for elderly people or anyone with a lot of luggage. Staff often called the room phone for their own convenience. They woke me in the morning with calls about the most trivial things, leaving me with an unpleasant day and too little sleep. Here, even ordinary things can't be taken for granted. I definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel.
