Stay in Biei

No one answered my calls, texts, or WhatsApp messages. The owner didn’t honor our Agoda booking and gave the room to someone else, so we had to find another hotel at the last minute. Book at your own risk.

I brought food expecting to use the cooking items during my stay, but the only cooking pan was badly scratched and had burn marks, so it wasn’t usable. The bowl and pan covers didn’t fit either. How was I supposed to cook? I messaged the owner to ask what could be done and got no reply. Being ignored when raising a customer concern was really disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

For the price, I thought it was good value, and Booking.com sent the instructions. Messages there got quick replies, even around 9 pm. There are useful amenities, including a washer and dryer with detergent. The cookware is pretty worn, though if you come to Japan planning to cook a lot instead of enjoying the excellent local food, I’d say that time is misspent. I booked through Booking.com rather than Agoda, which I found slimy. A previous reviewer also posted a detailed check-in guide.

There are two queen bedrooms, a living room, separate dining area, bathroom, toilet, washing machine, fridge, and the usual household appliances. The place is spacious, clean, and reasonably priced, with convenient parking and lots of good restaurants nearby. The key box code arrives by email, and you can get the key by opening it. I’d love to stay again.
