The staff were kind and polite, but the condition of this place was appalling. It didn’t feel like a hotel or resort, more like old containers in a dump. The website photos were completely misleading and didn’t match the property’s current state. My partner and I were hit by an unbearable smell of mold and dirt as soon as we opened the door. The floor was dirty and full of ants, the mattress sagged, and the stained sheets smelled bad. It felt as if the room hadn’t been properly cleaned for a long time. We saw spiders and cockroaches during the night, so we asked to change rooms, but the replacement had the same problems. The towels were dirty too, sometimes with hair on them. Shared spaces smelled of cigarette smoke and were filthy, with broken or poorly maintained furniture and appliances. The showers and bathrooms were in terrible shape. As we were leaving, we found used condoms under the bed, an unacceptable hygiene failure and a serious sanitary hazard. That left me with a feeling of filth that stayed even after we left. This was a truly disgusting experience. Reading reviews before booking is clearly important. No amount of kindness from staff can make up for this, and the place doesn’t meet even basic sanitary and living standards. If you want a pleasant vacation, avoid it at all costs.

We were meant to stay two nights, but left after one and moved to another hotel. There were lots of creepy men staying there who never seemed to leave. They kept looking and lurking, and I felt really unsafe and uncomfortable. The place was dirty and unkempt, with holes in the floors of the bathroom stalls. The walls were paper thin, so we heard everything, including those men making noise at 1:30 a.m., which made it very hard to sleep. Not safe for female travelers.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Hotel Hamby Resort. The room smelled terrible as soon as I walked in, and it was unbearable to stay there. The toilet was dirty, the bedsheets had period stains, and the pillows were stained too. There was hair all over the bedding. The room felt neglected and unwelcoming, and the hygiene made me question how the place is maintained. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone wanting a clean, comfortable stay. Save your money and find somewhere more reputable.

The rooms smelled strongly of mold and didn’t feel clean. We stayed two nights and regretted it both times. The free laundry and bikes are why I gave it one star. It’s okay only if you really can’t stretch another $10-20 for somewhere nicer.
