MINATO Chatan Seaside Condominium

This place could work well for a family with kids. It’s in a quiet, walkable neighborhood, with a supermarket within walking distance for basic supplies. It’s near American Village and maybe a base. We saw plenty of American military folks jogging and exercising. Jets or planes flew overhead for exercises once in a while. They could be loud, but it happened too rarely to be a major problem. The condo was fully equipped, including a washer and dryer and all the kitchen basics. It was big enough for four adults and a child, and had a beautiful water view. There were two parking spots, and the instructions for check-in and out and garbage sorting were helpful. The five-floor condo building has one rental unit per floor, with each unit taking up a whole floor and including three bedrooms. Our unit on the third floor had a tatami room where you set out Japanese-style bedding yourself. It was cozy, but could feel too firm if you’re used to a bed, and sound from the rest of the condo carried into that room. Harbor cafe was a great bonus within walking distance. Look it up: we went there for breakfast and coffee every day. If we return to the Chatan area, we’d consider staying here again with family.
