Hotel Sunset American

The staff were so friendly and willing to help with anything. Thanks to the whole team for a great stay. I loved this hotel enough to extend my visit. It’s right on the oceanfront, and my inexpensive sea-view room turned out to be a lovely little room with an amazing view. They offered to upgrade me to their new hotel, with a bigger room and bed, but I turned it down because I liked my room, balcony, and the shaded spot where I could sit and look at the sea. The bed was a large single, just right for me, comfortable, and really clean. The air conditioning worked well. I also had a small fridge and a small bathtub in the shower room, both real bonuses. You can wash and dry clothes for free in the machines on the second and third floors. There’s free water from a dispenser and a snack machine too. There are lots of good restaurants nearby, and the best dive shop is right next door, Bubble Box. They’re accommodating and nice to dive with. I did eight dives with them altogether. Their English wasn’t great, but Google Translate helped, and underwater we have our own language anyway. On non-diving days, I could snorkel right outside the hotel. I rented a car and found parking each night without hassle, though the hotel also rents bikes if you’re staying locally. American village and the shopping mall were a 5-7 minute drive depending on traffic and time of day, and the supermarket was 4-5 minutes away. One thing to know about the small rooms: there isn’t much space for luggage unless you put the chair out on the balcony. Photo is the view from my balcony xx
