Sk Hotel

I only booked this place for one night because I needed somewhere urgently and it was cheap. The room seemed like a former love hotel made over to look like a regular one. It wasn’t properly cleaned, with little bits of rubbish scattered around, and there was someone else’s hair stuck to the sheets and other items, even though they seemed to have been washed. A lint roller in the room would’ve helped. There was a lizard in the bathroom, then I woke up to a big spider on the wall the next morning. Tiny insects were all over the place, and I couldn’t tell where they came from. I also got mosquito bites despite keeping the window shut. I’ve stayed in lots of hotels, and this was easily the worst. I probably won’t return. Thank you.

The apartment was clean, and they left bottled water in the room. I stayed two nights, and the place felt so much like an apartment that I’ll keep it in mind when I live on my own. The towels and amenities were sorted into separate drawers, and there was a stylish light behind the bathroom mirror. I also liked having the shower and toilet in separate rooms. The AC and fridge worked almost too well, they were so cold. It took a while for the shower water to heat up, but I wasn’t in a rush. There was an air dock in the room, too. For the price, it was worth it. The downside is the location: there aren’t restaurants nearby, and the supermarket is about a 10-minute walk away, so a car might be useful. Dobutsuen Station on the monorail is around a 15-minute walk, and the place is in a residential area. I’m not local, so I can’t say whether it’s a renovated love hotel, but it does look like the one next door. I’d stay again if I got the chance.

There are ashtrays by the entrance, though smoking isn’t allowed anywhere in the hotel. The convenience store is about a three-minute drive away. The rooms were clean, roomy, and quiet, and the shower-only bathroom was fine for my needs. They only talked about service at check-in, which is how hotels generally are. If you keep your expectations modest, it’s perfectly okay. Thank you very much.

There was just one staff member, and what I took for a bed turned out to be a futon. No shower or bathtub, and I found hair in the dresser. I’m not coming back.
