Hotel Avenue Chikugo

A typical business hotel, but a good place to stay. The service and morning breakfast are especially good value.

Just average.

Breakfast was much more varied and lavish than I expected, and I left full and happy. Along with water, they had coffee, orange juice, and milk, plus plenty of sauces and dressings. For two people, 7,764 yen with breakfast included felt like a terrific deal. The room was compact but warm, with a big, fluffy bed and a clean bathroom and toilet. We could choose between two kinds of pillows, which was a nice little touch. I was less keen on the lighting: the entry light came on when you moved, while the room itself had orange lights by the pillow and mirror. A white light bright enough for the whole room would have helped. The window door opened in the morning, so you could let in light if the room felt dim. My husband and I stayed one night at the end of November. There were several staff members from overseas, and they all spoke fluent Japanese and treated us very courteously. The station area has lots of bars and restaurants, including a highball izakaya right across the way. We enjoyed walking around to find a place. It was a really good stay, and I hope we get the chance to return. Thank you very much (*^^*)
