Resort Inn Seikan

The onsen was a great way to unwind after skiing, and the bathroom setup was better than I expected for Japan: enough space, strong shower pressure, and plenty of hot water. The beds were very comfortable, the pillows felt just right, and there were extras available. The rooms were comfortable, and the place was quiet and relaxing. The location worked well. It was under five minutes to the bus station, about 15 minutes on foot to the main ski gondola, and 10-15 minutes to most places in town. In December, the lifts beside the property weren't open, so we walked to the gondola instead, which wasn't a big issue. The woman running the place was welcoming and helpful. She showed us around clearly and let us leave our bags after checkout until our ski day was over.

A cute Japanese-style place in a handy location, and a great deal for the price. We had a spacious standard twin room with two single beds, a tatami area, and a toilet. There's an onsen, breakfast, and a room for storing and drying ski gear. Highly recommend.

Free snacks and tea, great service, nice views, a tatami room, and a free onsen made this one of the best hotels I've stayed in. Most shops and the bus station are only a short walk away, so I'd absolutely recommend it for a ski trip. There's no elevator, but it was still an amazing stay. One tip, if the keys feel too heavy, you can unhook them from the wooden number plate.

This is a really good-value stay in Hakuba. The rooms are simple but clean, cozy, and well kept, with what you need for a comfortable visit. Ski and snowboard storage is available, and the hotel is handy for getting to the slopes. The onsen was just what I wanted after a day outside. There are restaurants within walking distance, and public transport is nearby for reaching ski areas and other attractions. For an affordable two-star hotel, it offers a lot. I'd happily come back, especially for skiing, snowboarding, and the hot springs.
