Auberge Tera

I had such a worthwhile time here. The food was all amazing, and I left completely satisfied. Thanks for the surprise. I’ll definitely come back!

The cake we ordered separately on arrival, the dinner dessert, and breakfast were all excellent and suited the setting. The auberge itself has a wonderful atmosphere, with a thoughtfully designed interior and facilities in a beautiful location. I think the food is the main reason to stay at an auberge. The price fits the atmosphere, but I expected the dishes to show the cost of their ingredients and the work behind them. Against that beautiful interior, the food was disappointing. I hope they can find a female chef able to devote herself to cooking once her children have grown.

The private bath was a lovely, relaxing space, and the wine list the staff had chosen included lots of appealing options. The staff were polite and friendly, so the meal felt relaxed and unpretentious while still being something out of the ordinary. My mother and I loved the delicately flavored dishes and their beautiful presentation. We kept saying they looked almost too pretty to eat. Breakfast was satisfying too, especially the homemade bread and jam. As we left, a child came out to give us a lovely send-off. It warmed our hearts. We had a wonderful day together, thank you so much. We’d love to visit again.

Chalet Grindel is near Chino’s Venus Line. The building is over 30 years old, but inside it has lovely furnishings and a nice atmosphere. There’s even a reading room, which I really enjoyed. For an auberge with only four rooms, it was more impressive than I expected. The new chef took over from the previous one in June last year and has now been in the role for one year and five months. It’s unusual, too, that the wife is the chef. When dinner is ready, they call your room to let you know it’s time to head to the restaurant. Our meal began with a warm mushroom and spinach quiche and two kinds of delicious fresh bread, followed by soup, a fish dish, a butcher’s main dish, and zest. The flavors were rich and everything was absolutely delicious. Try it for yourself. I highly recommend it.
