The South building has no elevator, smells, and doesn’t have a ladies’ shower. Our Family room was Room 251. The showers were a little moldy. We paid CAD$250 on Nov 22 and around $140 on Nov 23, and I’m not sure why the first night cost so much more for the same room. There are three buildings: North and Central look much nicer and renovated. Central has an elevator and two private shower rooms on the second floor for anyone who doesn’t want to use the public bath. Other positives include a free drink bar, an amazing rooftop view of Mt. Fuji, and toiletries and Yukata attire provided.

I didn’t use the public bath because I was ill, and skipped the breakfast and dinner buffets too. Families seemed to enjoy the game area. The beds are Japanese-style, the bathrooms are shared, and alcohol is included. There’s a supermarket close behind the hotel, but it opens late and closes early. Plenty of places to eat are within walking distance, especially to the north and west, though getting to them isn’t especially convenient. I’d definitely return for the great price. I did take off points for mold in the shower. It’s spread beneath the wallpaper, so I can understand why the staff may have given up on it. The space is confined but otherwise clean, and honestly, it didn’t ruin the stay.

The room was awful. It was much hotter inside than the outside temperature, the AC didn’t work, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and the floor was in bad shape. After a long scenic drive along Japan’s coast, I came back to find this place available, and it turned out to be a stupid choice. Fix your hotel now.

The rooftop foot bath and the view of Mt. Fuji absolutely floored me. The room itself felt cozy and more like home than a hotel, with wooden furniture. I hadn’t expected much for what Fujimi Inn cost, but I was seriously surprised. Getting there from the train station was a bit of a struggle with my large suitcase, and it took about 25 minutes on foot. The hotel has good facilities, including unlimited free drinks. I also liked having the traditional breakfast and manga library available, even though I mostly just hung out in the library and didn’t use it much. I’d recommend staying here if you want somewhere quiet with an amazing view of Mt. Fuji. It’s a place I won’t forget.

The rooftop has a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji, though on our second day Fuji San only peeked out now and then. We stayed two nights, and the staff knew enough English and were very happy to help. There are clean showers separate from the clean but different large public bath. I think you can get Asahi in schooner or pint sizes for ¥200, already pretty cheap, and the staff member gave us half-price drinks on both our first and second nights, seemingly at random because he’s such a good bloke. The rooms were really nice, and the traditional Japanese breakfast was interesting, just not quite to my taste. We visited outside the Fuji trekking season, which was a shame, but it was still a good experience.
