It's a quiet, beautiful area, and the sightseeing bus pass is a reasonably priced way to get around the different lakes. What a gorgeous part of Japan. The hostel itself is great and very clean, with a kitchen that's handy since there isn't much around, especially in the evening. There are no lockers in the dorm, and neither the main entrance nor dorm door locks. The staff member was super helpful and kept my valuables while I was away for the day, but that isn't a long-term fix. I skipped breakfast, but tried the beef curry for dinner once. It was tasty, though I never actually found the beef!

We were thrilled to wake up to Mount Fujisan with snow on top after arriving at night in the rain. It had rained heavily, so we were surprised to see it, especially since it was the first snowfall of the season (October 23, 2025). You can walk about 200 meters from the hostel to Oishi Park, the lake, and the garden for a great view of Mount Fuji. I booked the family room for 6 people through Booking.com. It was easy to get, had its own toilet, and the hostel was very clean with a minimal, homey style. Parking is about 100 meters behind the hostel, and there's also a movie room and kitchen. We were so happy staying here. I'd definitely book it again if I visit. 10/10!

The dorm was spotless, and the bed spaces were roomier than I expected, so it didn't feel cramped. Everything was very clean, and the common areas were cosy and comfortable to hang out in. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made it feel relaxed right away. Amazing hostel, I'd definitely recommend it!

It's a quiet, peaceful area, a good place to rest after sightseeing. Dot Hostel & Bar is very close to Oishi Park, handy for Mount Fuji views and walks around Lake Kawaguchiko. The hostel is clean and well kept. Staff are friendly, responsive, and helpful with local information when you ask. A practical, comfortable option if you're after calm accommodation near Oishi Park and Kawaguchiko Lake.
