We came to Hoshinoya Fuji for three days and two nights to celebrate a special occasion, and the stay went beyond what we expected. The staff were attentive and thoughtful, keeping in touch before we arrived about a special request so everything went smoothly. They also gave us grape juice to mark the occasion, and it was delicious. Our D Cabin had a terrace sofa, a comfortable, beautifully designed room with stunning views. We tried the beef curry and hoto noodles in the main dining room, both satisfying and full of flavor. We also had shabu shabu on the terrace, a cozy but refined meal with high-quality beef. There was lots to do on site, from lighting a bonfire and chopping wood to making pizza and trying the food-smoking workshop. Staff explained each activity in English and patiently showed us what to do. Early morning canoeing is a must for the beautiful Mount Fuji views. If you want a glamping break from the city, Hoshinoya Fuji offers a memorable mix of nature, comfort, and warm hospitality.
The staff made sure all my arrangements were sorted, and I’d recommend the stay if you’re after a break from city life and something a little different. The cabins are peaceful and thoughtfully designed, surrounded by nature with incredible Mount Fuji views. The room decor is simple and plain, with a Muji kind of vibe. That makes sense when the focus is on the surrounding nature and the stunning view. It felt calming and unforgettable, worth every moment.
The cozy Cloud area, with its bonfire and indoor fireplace, was a lovely place to hang out, and our large lodge had a view of Mount Fuji. The resort feels modern and luxurious, with kind staff and amazing hospitality. We booked activities in advance, including pizza making, hiking, canoeing, and an electric bike, which I recommend doing. We also booked the in-room breakfast box ahead of time, and had a lovely dinner at the La carte restaurant. This was the highlight of our Japan trip. We’ll stay here again on our next visit.
The pine forest gives the place an immersive feel, and there are plenty of activities if you stay for the day. The location is really nice, with a view of Fuji, and the room was cozy and comfortable. One thing about room cleaning: I left bottles and glasses on the table and expected room service to clear them, but they were still there. Dinner is notably expensive.
The forest activities made the last morning especially memorable. It was foggy for our first two days, but then the skies cleared and we got beautiful sunny views of Mount Fuji. We loved all the food, especially the unusual morning picnic basket, as well as the a la carte and kaiseki meals. The staff were incredibly attentive, and we felt immersed as soon as we were given forest clothes and camping backpacks. Little touches included tea at reception each night, bath infusions made with forest leaves and wood, freshly brewed aromatherapy oils, and snacks at “sweets time.” The architecture and natural setting fit together beautifully.
