The landlady was so kind, and the guesthouse had a quiet, homey feel. The building was really clean, and all the food was delicious and carefully made. I couldn't help going back for seconds. I was there with my husband, and it was my first time at a guesthouse. I wasn't used to how things worked, but they welcomed us warmly and answered all my questions without complaint. The place was a little small and hard to find, but it was such a lovely stay that I'd like to return.

I really liked this place and will definitely come back ♥️ The owner is an elderly lady who is kind and always happy to offer recommendations. The building is old, but it has a classic local feel. The caretaker doesn’t speak English, but we had no trouble communicating with gestures.

The nicest surprise was the beautiful view of Mt. Fuji from the front door, and how cool and comfortable it felt! The staff were friendly, and for a budget guesthouse starting at ¥15,000 for two people, the service was average. It would work for a room-only stay, but I don't think I'll return. There are no vending machines, so it's best to bring food. I can see it suiting a training camp or business trip, but I'm not sure about a family holiday. I booked my first stay here as an affordable summer break during Obon. The outside and interior had a pretty typical guesthouse look, lol. Shared toilets and the indoor bath were kept clean. There were two large toilets and one small one, none with a bidet, plus three sinks and a hair dryer. The bathroom was at the back of the first floor, with a private area for families. The changing space was small, but the bathtub was roomy, there were four showers with decent pressure, and the water felt nice, though it wasn't a hot spring. My room was a Japanese-style corner room at the back of the second floor, about eight tatami mats in size. The screen door had a screw, and lots of winged ants got in at night, sobs. It had an inside lock, air conditioning, a wall fan, a mini fridge, and futon and pillows that were generally comfortable, but no tissues. Meals were served in the big first-floor hall. The price was reasonable, but I wouldn't expect too much in taste or portion size. The white rice and sashimi were just okay, the grilled pork was good, and the horse sashimi was excellent.

Both dinner and breakfast were really satisfying, and the price felt fair. The building is old, so I did have a few complaints, but it was good enough for the value and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a budget stay. The landlady is doing her best on her own. I had trouble working out where to park, and unfortunately the rain meant we couldn't see Mt. Fuji.
