We only stayed one night, across two days, but got to see Mt Fuji in so many different moods. At one point the blue mountain and snowy summit were crystal clear, then evening clouds striped its middle as the sun turned it pink and red. Another day it disappeared completely into fog, even though we knew it was right there. There are plenty of activities around the property to keep people busy. My favorite part was the food: it felt and tasted like real Japanese home cooking, rather than the elaborate course meals hotels often serve.

We walked to the nearby lake and saw Mount Fuji reflected in the water like a mirror. The view was so cool. Then, from our bedroom window, we got to watch the sunrise over the mountain. I wish I could see this place in all four seasons!

The staff were so welcoming. The next morning they showed us around the resort, including the garden where they grow herbs for cooking. It’s set in a quiet, private area, with impressive Mt Fuji views when the sky is clear. Our two-floor suite was comfortable and looked out at Fuji. Breakfast is included, starts at 8am, and the fresh homemade dishes use local ingredients from the Fuji area. The chefs are happy to work around special diets. Lake Tanuki is a short walk away, and there are other options nearby too, like rafting, a horseback riding farm for kids, and Fuji Milk Land. We passed three bus stops, but buses don’t come often, so plan ahead. The staff are glad to help you work out your plans.

A nice place to get a break from busy city life. The staff were super helpful and willing to share any information we needed to plan trips around the area. The food was tasty and healthy, made with local vegetables and meat.
