Apartment 203 has a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji, though the other rooms don’t. We stayed there for two nights and loved it. It is dated, but spacious and comfortable, with two separate tatami bedrooms and a separate kitchen with a washing machine, dryer, and full-size fridge. The only thing I had trouble with was operating the tabletop stove. The owner has six bikes you can borrow for free to explore locally. The location is handy too, an 8 minute walk from 7/11, 10 minutes from Gekkouji train station to Tokyo, and 18 minutes from Fujisan bus and train station.

We spent a week in apartment 102 and could easily have stayed for months. We were working remotely and needed a table for our laptops, so I checked with the host before booking. The host was kind from the start and answered my questions. The flat had everything for cooking: quality kitchen appliances, plus coffee, tea, biscuits, and seasonings from the host. We made breakfast and dinner every day. The laundry machines were excellent too. The bathroom and washroom were great. If you’re unfamiliar with this setup, you have to switch on the boiler to heat the water, with panels by the bathtub and in the kitchen. Lots of amenities were provided, though we brought our own and didn’t use them. We used one of the two rooms as a TV living room and kept our luggage there, and slept in the other. The futons were extremely comfortable, and the room was quiet and cozy, so even as a light sleeper I had perfect nights. December nights were around 2-0, and the room ACs heated wonderfully. Portable heaters were available for the kitchen and bathroom. The bikes seemed brand new and were perfect for us. We rode every day. The location was excellent, with some attractions literally five minutes away by car and others not far. We didn’t have a car but had no trouble. At the end of the stay, we asked the hosts to help book a taxi to the station. The lady was so kind that she drove us there herself. I’m forever grateful. We had unforgettable days at Fujiyoshida, arigatou gozaimasu.

It’s in a quiet area and the apartment has complete amenities: kitchen, laundry, air conditioning, hot water, and four tatami beds. Nice place, though nobody was there to welcome us.

Parking spot 203 was hard to get into. It was at the far right, with a car parked on the left. Inside, there was a strong old-apartment smell, which may be hard to avoid given the age of the place. It seemed clean, but the towels were very old and rough on the skin and should be replaced. There were flying bugs in the TV room, and the facilities are really old. I wish they’d provide basics like a warm toilet, which is normal in every Japanese household. The shower was hard to use because it twists and bends on its own, and there was no knife in the kitchen. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and body soap if you don’t want to use the cheap, possibly harmful Daiso products. For ¥14,000 for two nights, I wouldn’t recommend it. The location is the only good thing about the place. I hope this review helps the owner see that improvements are needed.

The quiet neighbourhood was pleasant to walk through, and several attractions were within a good walking distance. I enjoyed my stay. I just wish there were more amenities and restaurants or bars nearby.
