Guest House Tsurubasha

The owners were so kind when rain meant we arrived early, and let us in ahead of time. The house is cute and nicely furnished, with an onsen as well. Mount Fuji looks beautiful from here, and the train passes almost through the garden. You may find the noise bothersome in the morning or evening, though it didn't affect us. It's right by the station. For sleeping, there's one room with two regular beds, plus two rooms with two futons apiece. A lovely traditional Japanese place to stay.

We were four and had lots of room to spread out, with enough bedrooms to stay comfortable. The living room is especially spacious, and the high open ceiling makes it feel nice. We accidentally left something behind, and they were really helpful about it. A wonderful place to stay.

There are five bikes in the garden, which are great for exploring the quiet countryside and enjoying the nature around you. We were lucky enough to spot a cute tree fog by the wooden fence, so say hi if you see it. The old house has a real Japanese drama feel, but comes with modern comforts, including air conditioning throughout and a bathroom like you'd find in an onsen hotel. The kitchen is roomy and has plenty of equipment for cooking.

My sons love trains, so getting to watch them pass behind the house made them really happy. The bath was lovely too. We'd definitely stay here again.
