Kazu even let us use the bicycles to get around town at no extra cost, and the house has a bathtub, washing machine, and a kotatsu that was so cozy on a rainy day. It’s a cute, very clean and tidy place with a view of Fuji-san from the room, and the neighborhood is quiet. It’s also English friendly, and just a two-minute walk from Fujisan station. Kazu, the owner, was super friendly and supportive. He made dinner and breakfast for me and my husband, and the food was delicious. I was jet-lagged and our schedule was tight, so we couldn’t spend much more time there, but Kazztel is an easy yes. The home felt really comfortable. I was honestly envious that Kazu gets to live in such a pretty place every day. One thing to know: the house is next to a small graveyard. I usually feel scared walking past graveyards, but this one looked so peaceful that I didn’t feel uneasy at all. Check-in is at 3 pm because the owner has work, though he doesn’t mind if you leave your luggage after checkout. I messaged Kazu at 5 in the morning and, to my surprise, he replied almost instantly lol. Fujiyoshida was one of my favorite towns in Japan. The view of Fuji-san is amazing and the town is lovely.

We woke up around 4 or 5 am and caught a magnificent view of Fuji when the clouds cleared. Our big tatami room was made up with clean, comfortable floor beds, and we even had pajamas provided. Kazztel is a spacious, spotless home, just a two-minute walk from Mt Fuji station. Kaz greeted us after our long trip with homemade Nikujaga and rice. My husband and I both thought it was the best stew we’d ever had, no exaggeration. We had a couple of beers with him, chatted, and tried playing a little on his keyboard. He’s such a friendly guy. Breakfast was delicious too, with salmon, rice, homemade miso, and a Japanese-style omelet. As we packed to hike Mount Fuji, Kaz made us a bunch of Onigiri for the trip. He also walked with us to the station and helped us buy the right bus tickets to 5th station. That was incredibly thoughtful. We feel lucky to have found this place. It would be a lovely home base before or after hiking Fuji-San, or for exploring Fujikawaguchiko. We’d happily come back. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality, Kaz!

Kazuyoshi’s home is bigger and even prettier than the photos suggest, with lovely Japanese touches and beautiful architecture. It was comfortable in every way and so clean. We felt welcome from the start, and the whole house had such good energy. The meals Kazuyoshi made for us were spectacular. This stay is going to remain one of our most cherished memories. I’d recommend it to travelers of any age. If you’re visiting Japan, make sure to stop by Kazuyoshi’s place. Thank you, my friend!

The place looks even better in person than in the pictures. It’s beautifully decorated in an old Japan style, with gorgeous woodwork, and the beds are comfortable. Wi-Fi is included and the extra amenities are spectacular. The host is amazing, and the quiet neighborhood is perfectly placed for seeing Mt. Fuji. There’s also a great Japanese restaurant a few minutes away on foot that I’d recommend. One of the best places we’ve stayed on our trips to Japan. I hope we get to return soon!

We really liked being in a central spot that still felt like a quiet, quaint part of town. It was just right for our family while we were in the Fuji area. From here, it’s easy to drive or take public transportation to Fuji-Q Highland theme park, Mount Fuji, nearby onsen, shrines and temples, and nature spots. I recommend Yurari Onsen. Beautiful house, kind host, and one of my favorite stays in Japan.
