I loved being able to walk everywhere from this location. There’s a 7-11 on the first floor, a bus stop one minute away, and the train station is a three-minute walk. One exit with an elevator is a little farther, but still less than five minutes. The room was wide enough to leave one 30-inch suitcase open, the bed was very soft, and the hot water was really good.

The room was clean, and the customer service was good. It’s an older hotel, but it covers the basics: a bed, bath, and decent space to rest. I was happy enough for a one-night stay. There’s no coffee or tea in the room, but there’s a machine at reception and a 7-11 below the hotel. I’d say anything above three stars is overrated. My room was beside the lift, so loud talking or rolling luggage could be noisy. There was a gap under the room door about as wide as my thumb tip, though another door helped reduce the sound. As a light sleeper, I could see that being a problem. The hot water tap in my bathroom was noisy too. Tenjin underground mall is within a ten-minute walk, and there are plenty of restaurants around.
For the price, this place is amazing. It’s right above a 7/11, the rooms are huge, and there’s room for two large and two small suitcases with plenty of open space left. The layout has separate areas for shoes and clothes, the bed, and the bathroom. Amenities are complete, laundry detergent is free, and you can borrow an umbrella at no charge. The staff were accommodating. On our last night, I was doing laundry and ended up chatting for two hours with the Sri Lankan front desk staff member we’d met. Just a pleasant stay.
This place was a dump, and I wouldn’t stay here again. The bathroom had mold and mildew, the carpets and curtains were dirty, and even the lampshades were stained. There was no security door to keep outsiders from reaching the rooms. The stairs from the street just had a sign saying “do not enter if you are not staying here.” My wife wouldn’t feel comfortable staying here alone. The bed was clean, and the hotel is close to downtown. There’s an elevator parking lot for small cars that costs 2000 yen per night.
The location is great, and the staff are really helpful. For what it costs, it’s not a bad hotel.
