Hotel Marinoa Resort Fukuoka

The rooms are roomy for the price and good value, with every room looking out over the marina. Breakfast is brought to the room, and there’s a lounge open from 3-5pm and 8-10pm, with free drinks including sake, beer, wine, and snacks. It’s an old hotel, though it’s maintained fairly well, and the wooden furniture looks quite dated. Since it’s far from the city center, there isn’t much reason to stay unless you’re going to a wedding or want somewhere away from town with free parking.

Getting around is the main drawback here. You more or less need a bus, taxi, car, bike, or scooter, and the location is poor unless you have a boat or something like that. Still, it was cheap and really nice, with an amazing view. Some parts are worn: the hallway carpets need a facelift, and the whole hotel could use fresh paint.

The staff made us feel welcome and cared for from check-in through check-out, and the clean room was thanks to the Housekeeping team. The F&B/Kitchen team served delicious food both in the restaurant and in our room. We enjoyed the lunch buffet, BBQ dinner, and summer fest, especially the s'mores, games, and "sparklers”. Most of all, the hotel helped make my daughter's birthday special, and we’re so grateful. Hayashi-san, Oki-san, Konishi-san, Ishibashi-san, and Rai-san from the Front Office were especially kind, hospitable, and helpful. A friend recommended Hotel Marinoa Resort Fukuoka, and it turned out to be just right for celebrating. We’ll come back for more family occasions and memories. ❤️

There were only a few restaurants within walking distance, though a convenience store was nearby, and the price was a bit above average. For driving travelers, the abundant free parking right outside the entrance was a big plus. The seashore setting was relaxing, with all rooms facing the leisure boat shelter and a nice sunrise view in the morning. The room was spacious and comfortable, with two kinds of bath salts for the tub beside the balcony. Staff explained the facilities at check-in, showed us to the room, and helped with luggage. We chose a breakfast set then, which was served in the room in a generous amount and at a good temperature. The bottled coffee wasn’t as good as the free drip coffee in the room, and the complimentary dessert at the bar was a nice extra. Overall, a satisfactory stay.
