The breakfast was a real highlight, especially the keihan with its rich free-range chicken broth and choice of toppings. There were plenty of familiar business hotel dishes along with local food, and the dining room ventilation seemed excellent. Even when I went early, the CO2 reading rarely went above 650 ppm. I stayed in mid-July 2025 and found the price very good for a business hotel. The Tenmonkan shopping and tourist area is right nearby, and Kagoshima Chuo station isn't far. My clean, practical single room faced Sakurajima at a slight angle, and I appreciated being able to crack the window open when the weather was nice. There was also a small fridge for fruit from the nearby supermarket. My one minor gripe: just one firm pillow, with the hard and soft sides combined, which might not suit everyone.

A comfortable, good-value business hotel with no luxury extras. The central location has lots of connections and the WiFi worked well. It suited me as a solo traveler, and I think couples would be fine too. Families with children may find it less suitable since that doesn't seem to be the hotel's focus. I really had nothing to complain about.

The staff were nice, everything was clean, and breakfast was okay with a lovely view. The room was small, and so was the bathroom, but both worked. The beds and pillows were too hard for me, and there was only one pillow.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel is close to shops and restaurants. We had a non-smoking room, though it still seemed like people had been smoking and the hotel was trying to cover the smell.

I found the lake a little dull. It's small and there isn't much greenery to add color or depth. Still, most people are there for Yufuin Street and Yufuin Floral Village, and the lake is at the end of the road, so it's worth taking a look.
