9h nine hours Nakasukawabata Station

I stayed in a female capsule from October 7-11, 2025. I arrived at 9 p.m., and when I came back at 1 a.m. there was still someone at the front desk, so I think it may be staffed 24/7. The whole place was very clean. You have to check out during a few hours in the middle of the day, though I can’t remember if it was 11-3 or 10-2. You put everything in the locker, which fits a large suitcase. I didn’t mind the capsule being unavailable for a few hours, since I went out at 10 and came back around 8 p.m. This hostel isn’t a social place. Nobody tried to talk, and it seemed like the other guests were all Japanese women. I did hear snoring. The location is walkable to lots of places in Fukuoka, and it felt very safe late at night.

The showers are modern and simple, and there’s enough space to sort and repack your luggage. The mattress and pillows were pretty hard, but that didn’t bother me. Just know that for stays longer than one night, you have to check out and then check in again later that day. You can keep your bags in the locker. As far as I know, they don’t offer luggage forwarding, so you’d need to take it to the airport yourself. All in all, I’d recommend staying here.

The room was clean and well managed, but during my week-long stay I had to clear out of the sleeping pod by 11 a.m. and wait until 3 p.m. to return. None of the bathrooms could be used during those hours. After checkout, they wouldn’t hold a bag for me, even for five minutes. There’s also very little space to rest.

For a one-night city stay, this worked really well, especially since I got a lower-than-usual rate. The pod was surprisingly spacious, with a dimmable light, charging points, and strong Wi-Fi. They also gave me pyjamas, towels, a toothbrush, and earplugs. The shower rooms were roomy, and the facilities were kept clean and tidy. The locker area can feel cramped when several people are using it at once, and the shared dining and lounge space by the entrance is very small. As in hostels generally, alarms kept going off in the morning. If you can sleep despite noise from a shared open space, I’d recommend it.
