Legatio HAKATA Station East

We arrived to find the building's front door locked, with nobody working at the hotel. We waited, hoping someone might show up by 5pm, but no one did. There was no check-in email beyond the booking confirmation, which had no useful details, and there was no text or sign outside explaining what to do. Calls went unanswered at first. After several tries, well past check-in time, someone finally walked us through the process by phone and gave us the code they should have emailed in the first place. I've never had a worse hotel check-in. For a 3 star place, shouldn't there be someone at the front desk? Sending the code and putting clear instructions outside isn't hard. This business is poorly run and the service was horrible. I'll never return.

We were left stuck outside because the door code never came by email and there was no front desk. The international phone number we found online didn't work either. I booked through my credit card travel website.

I was amazed by how kind the owner was, how clean the room was, and how big it was. It makes me wonder why I've spent so much on 5 star hotels. Just amazing, and I'd definitely recommend this place to someone else.

It was much bigger than I expected, and just a few minutes' walk from Hakata station. A fantastic place to stay. I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Fukuoka.
