Mitsui Garden Hotel Fukuoka Nakasu

The spa wasn't appealing to me, and guests have to bring towels from their room because none are provided there. The eco-friendly setup was inconvenient too: there are no in-room amenities, so remember to bring your own or pick them up in the lobby. The location is great, and check-in and check-out were efficient and helpful. Breakfast had the basics, but I found it disappointing next to the breakfast at Gion Mitsui, where I stayed two years ago. That one was superb by comparison. For this price I expected better, and I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.

The location made things easy, with a subway station, Don Quijote, a supermarket, pharmacies, convenience stores like 7-Eleven, and plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices and some dishes changing each day, which was a thoughtful way to keep things from getting repetitive. We stayed from October 1-5, and the spacious, clean, comfortable rooms were a welcome place to rest after exploring Fukuoka. Staff in reception, the restaurant, and housekeeping were polite and accommodating. Their warm welcome made our first visit to the city feel even more special. We had a wonderful stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Fukuoka Nakasu. I highly recommend it for comfort, convenience, and great service.

The beautiful onsen helped make the rest of my stay peaceful and relaxing. I appreciated the range of shampoos and conditioners, and the breakfast was stunning, one of the best I've had in a 4* hotel. I loved trying Fukuoka specialities and so many fresh products. I've already recommended the hotel to friends. I've stayed at Mitsui Garden Hotels whenever I could, but this was my first time in Fukuoka and it may be my favourite in Japan so far. The location, style, and comfort were outstanding, and the staff's warmth and helpfulness made it memorable. They handled two stressful situations with ease. Before the trip, I couldn't change my reservation online because I'd booked with a debit card. An employee sorted it out for me by phone without changing the price, even though it was peak season, and everything was ready when I arrived. Soon after checking in, I realized I'd taken the wrong suitcase at the airport. I felt bad about causing trouble for another visitor in Fukuoka, and worried my own suitcase might be lost. A reception staff member calmly and kindly helped me call the airport and explained what I should do.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but the room and facilities let me down. I'd heard Mitsui Garden was one of Japan's top four-star hotels, so I was disappointed. The room was small, which I can understand since Japanese hotel rooms are often compact, but other Fukuoka hotels at a similar price had much more space. The view was poor too. Cleanliness was lacking: after I used the slippers, I found tissues left behind, which made it seem the room hadn't been tidied properly.
