Stay Tenjin

There’s a convenience store right next door, which made it easy to get snacks, drinks, or essentials. The hotel has two lifts, so waits stayed short even when it was busy. We’ve stayed at several Tokyu Stay properties in Tokyo, and the customer service and room cleanliness have been consistent. This branch isn’t as close to a subway as the other Tokyo locations, though, and the washing machine in our room was extremely noisy and vibrated a lot. We didn’t have that issue at the other branches in Kyoto and Tokyo. Still, it was a comfortable, reliable stay, and we’d be happy to return on a future Fukuoka visit.

The room came with a microwave, electric stove, and washing machine, which was really handy, especially for a longer stay. There was also a big sofa by the window, nice for relaxing, and free amenities to pick up in the lobby before heading upstairs. We had plenty of room, surprisingly for Japan: we could open a large suitcase and a cabin bag, with space left for another suitcase and room to walk around. The bathroom was roomy too, and the shampoo, conditioner, soap, and hairdryer were all ReFa. There’s a nearby bus stop and easy access to Tenjin shopping areas like Tenjin Underground Shopping Mall. A comfortable, convenient hotel, and I’d stay here again.

Tenjin is right on the edge of the area, but we could walk to restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, subway stations, and malls. The nearby Lawson is well stocked too. Our triple room had plenty of space for all of us and our suitcases, which we could lay open flat. It was well equipped with a kitchenette, closet, and washer-dryer, and the free detergent smelled good. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Fukuoka.

We stayed five nights in November in a residential twin room. The staff were friendly and helped forward our luggage to the next hotel. There’s a restaurant in the lobby, a well-stocked Lawson next door, and a decent amenity bar, though nothing fancy. The hotel is a few minutes’ walk from the subway, under five minutes. The location is okay but not perfect: it’s between Tenjin and Hakata station, with not much to do right around it. The room was spacious but storage was limited to a bar for about four items, with no drawers or closet. The beds were firm but comfortable. Having a microwave and fridge-freezer was handy, and the in-room washer-dryer was one of our main reasons for booking. It took about 3-4 hours, and everything came out clean and mostly dry. The bathroom had a nice rainfall and handheld shower and a soaking tub. I wish the lighting by the bathroom mirror was better. I’d consider staying again, but might look for somewhere closer to Tenjin or Hakata station next time.
