We stayed two nights. The hotel is conveniently close to Hakata JR Station, and its lower price compared with similarly located hotels was one of the reasons we chose it. After dealing with some of the staff, though, I’d rather pay more and stay elsewhere next time. Several staff members seemed quick to judge or dismiss questions, and often appeared annoyed instead of trying to help. One female staff member with a larger build left the worst impression. When we saw that we’d been given a room on Level 2, we politely asked if a higher floor was available. We would have understood if not, but she snapped that rooms were assigned by the machines and everyone else had checked in, so that was the only room. She didn’t check or try to help, and the answer felt condescending. We also asked at check-in if the hotel could reserve a taxi big enough for our three large bags. A different staff member, a lady with a bob haircut, politely explained that they couldn’t book jumbo taxis, which we accepted. The next day, after realizing regular taxis were too small, we came back to ask if they could help us find a vehicle like one we’d photographed, just a little larger and not necessarily a jumbo taxi. Before the staff member we were speaking to could answer, the same woman with the larger build interrupted in Japanese to remind her colleague that we’d already been told jumbo taxis couldn’t be reserved. She then arrogantly told us to walk to the JR station and wait until we saw a taxi “of a size we fancy” before hailing it. She offered no explanation or alternative and made no attempt to help. It felt rude and unnecessary, especially since she hadn’t been part of the conversation. Front desk staff should be patient and respectful even when they can’t meet a request. Experiences like these hurt the hotel’s reputation despite its convenient location.

A lovely room, with a comfortable bed and a separate sitting area, and the hotel is very close to Hakata station while still being quiet. There’s free coffee all day, plus a fridge and kettle in the room. I used the washing machine near reception, which was quick and reasonably priced. Handy for catching Sunway, local trains, or coach tours.

The room cleaning was decent, and the foot massage machine in the room really helped after we walked around 20,000 steps each day. The counter staff were very friendly and useful too. On our last day, they kept our luggage, and when our iccoa fell in the elevator, they even helped us find it.

The coin laundry and dryers were clean and well maintained. The room was also clean, in good condition, and had all the essentials. The main drawback is the limited space, which seems common in Japanese hotels. The location is very close to Hakata train station, the bus terminal, and the airport bus stop.

The best part of my room was probably the shower, that thing is amazing. The sink was outside the toilet and shower area, and there was a couch with a little table for relaxing or sleeping. It also had a kettle, I think some tea, bottled water replaced daily, a window you could open for fresh air, and a foot massage thing. I wish there’d been a towel rack outside the bathroom door, and the TV was in a really awkward spot. It’s about a block from the station, super convenient, with lots of places to eat and different convenience stores nearby. Staff were helpful, even though their English wasn’t very strong, it was good enough. They offer a free pour of wine each night from 1600-2200, which isn’t bad. There are only two elevators, so they can get busy and the wait can add up. There’s one bathroom, a free coffee machine, and two washers and two dryers, about 200 yen per cycle.
