Other than that, it's a pretty sweet place. Just don't count on the staff for help, they're about as inflexible and unaccommodating as they can be. The only reason I gave service two stars is that the place is unmanned, so you don't have to see their faces coming or going.

The room was clean and playful, with a high ceiling. It's close to the station, and the location is good.

We couldn't check in smoothly on a 2-degree Celsius night because the accommodation tax had to be paid outside the door, and as foreign travelers we couldn't receive the credit card payment SMS on our phones. I'd already asked in earlier reviews about getting the payment message three days ahead, but never received one. With so many reviews mentioning this, why hasn't it been fixed? The room was dark around the sofa, with the upper bunk blocking the light. The bunk ceiling was so low you could easily hit your head, and the scratched cookware made me worry it might release toxic substances. We first called staff through the room tablet about an issue with the IH heater. After we unplugged it, the tablet stopped working, so we had to email instead. Then staff called us through the tablet at midnight to get it working again, which terrified us. The service was so ridiculous that I don't even want to give it one star. This is the accommodation I'd least recommend from my trip.

Morning light came pouring through the high window, which was out of reach, so turning the lights off didn't help. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I've had in an unmanned hotel in Fukuoka, about the size of a mat at an internet cafe. It was a creaky metal frame with a thin mattress and a pillow with no cushioning. I suppose the room and location were about what the price would suggest.
