HOTEL R9 The Yard Fukuyama

I’d come back here again when I’m in the area. The free frozen bento was tasty, and I didn’t hear noise from nearby properties. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the price felt better than a business hotel. There aren’t many shops close by, but Daimon Station is around an eight-minute walk. From there it’s about seven minutes on to Fukuyama Station, where you can find places to eat or grab something.

R9 is offering a 15% discount through LINE right now, which makes it a good deal. I’m a big fan of R9, and this place has that “I’m back!” feeling. The check-in staff member had cool nails and a lovely smile, and the person at checkout was just as friendly. For Hiroshima, leave the hotel, turn right at the traffic light, then take another right.

The road nearby makes itself heard, with cars and motorcycles passing by pretty often. I wonder whether the rooms are soundproof. Still, the room felt clean, helped by taking off your shoes at the entrance like at home. The bath water came quickly and had good pressure, and frozen snacks were free.

The one-way-only entrance was a bit inconvenient. The hotel is easy to spot along the national highway, though large trucks go by often and make it a little noisy. Noise from the neighboring rooms didn’t come through, which felt reassuring. The rooms were all clean, and the free microwaveable snacks were good.
