Super Hotel Gotemba Nigo-Kan

The service is what earned the 5 stars. The staff were excellent and patient with all my questions, and I felt very welcome throughout my stay. This is the best budget hotel I’ve visited, and now I’d like to try Super Hotel in other locations.

Small rooms, but great value for that incredible view when you wake up. Breakfast was filling too. It’s a cute hotel near the major outlet!

There’s a lot nearby. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Gotemba Station, with plenty of restaurants along the way. A supermarket is across from the hotel for food and drinks, and there’s a Japanese confectionery shop next door. The rooms are clean, and the food is free and tasty. Wi-Fi worked well enough for me to hold online meetings. The free shuttle between Gotemba Station and the outlet market stops nearby, with four buses an hour. The stop is about a five-minute walk away, near the veterinary clinic by the Gotemba Interchange exit. It’s a little confusing to find, but it’s between the expressway entrance and exit roads, in the same place as the express bus stop. The outlet’s website has more details.

I loved the location. A major bus stop is walkable, and the free bus to gotemba premium outlet stops there too. There’s a big supermarket across the road, plus a 7/11, a large uniqlo, and daiso. The room was a typical size for Japan, and the hotel surprisingly has a public onsen. I liked being able to choose from different pillows and use things like face masks and hair treatments. There’s also an open bar during happy hour, but check with the hotel for the hours. I think it was 6-9pm. Breakfast was good, with bread baked in-house.
