We absolutely loved staying here. The small, deep hot bath fits two, and there’s an amazing temple next door. It’s a lovely boutique hotel for experiencing Japanese accommodation, food, and hospitality. For an overnight stay, we didn’t need much else. Just don’t come expecting Karaoke night life :-)
A wonderful stay for two nights.
Dinner was disappointing, and we’d been looking forward to eating in the large hall on the second floor, but they moved us to a small room by the entrance on the first floor. We’d stayed here once in October last year and had a very good impression, so we’d wanted to return. This time, exactly a year later, we were very disappointed. My father made the reservation for me because I was busy with work during the day, but that night the landlady suddenly called him to ask if he was sure he would pay the room fee. It was extremely rude, and we’ll never stay here again. I suspect the landlady may have dementia, and I think running the inn without treatment would be difficult.
There’s a microwave available, and the place has a warm, cozy feel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the surroundings are beautiful. This small hotel is about 20 minutes from Takaju Ski Resort. Great!
The building is old, but the rooms and interior are clean, there’s Wi-Fi, and the calm atmosphere made it easy to relax. The inn has a comforting traditional warmth, and everyone, from the landlady on, was polite and made my stay comfortable throughout. Their kind words and thoughtful attention helped me feel at ease. The food was delicious too. Each dish seemed carefully made, with gentle seasoning and a good range of choices, and I enjoyed every bite. Meals were a real pleasure. It’s a memorable place for good food and warm hospitality, and I’d like to visit again.
